Zane Howard, a 2013 Queen City graduate, wrapped up one of his best baseball seasons since enrolling at Central Christian College in McPherson, Kan.
This year Howard was the Tigers’ offensive leader. He started all 53 games for the Tigers hitting .352 with 63 hits including 14 doubles, one triple and 11 homers.
The talented junior also led the team in runs batted in, with 54. Defensively he had 154 putouts, 82 assists and 10 errors.
Howard was a big reason why the baseball team doubled their win total from the year before, with 18 wins this season.
His amazing play notched him a spot on the Association of Independent Institutions Conference (A.I.I.C.) All-Conference team as a First Team Second Baseman, and the Howard J. Krober Award (men’s most outstanding athlete award) at the Second Annual Toby Awards Show.
