Queen City’s Ryan Fincher lifts his way to state

Last year Queen City sent a powerlifter to the state meet and the way the Bulldog program was racking up wins at different events this year under Coach Fred Thrower there very well could have been more involved this year.
Senior lifter Ryan Fincher was at the top of the list in every meet he attended and finished that up with a state appearance.

Simmons, Cooper rep AHS at State Powerlifting Meet

In just a few short years the Atlanta Iron powerlifting program went from brand new to experienced under the tutelage of Head Coach Craig Fant.

In the past three years of the young program six young Atlanta Iron men have graced the state stage of the powerlifting meet, and one of those brought home a gold medal last year.Read more in our e-edition:

Senior Ebony Castleberry makes state appearance

There’s the old adage “third time’s a charm”, but in the case of senior powerlifter Ebony Castleberry the first time was just right.
Ebony traveled with Linden-Kildare powerlifting coach Gary Parrish to Corpus Christi for a shot at a gold medal in the 3A State Powerlifting Meet on March 18. Asking Ebony how she felt about making the big stage in her first year try the answer was easy for her say.
