Title I national award was unexpected but welcomed by AES

Atlanta Elementary School’s designation as a National Title I Distinguished School was a sweet surprise because it’s an award the district never applied for, much less expected to win.
In fact, school officials didn’t even know the award existed before AES became a finalist and was eventually named the best Title I campus in Texas.
