M.U.M.S. wins ninth consecutive Academic District Championship
M.U.M.S. wins ninth consecutive Academic District Championship
The academic U.I.L. teams from Morris Upchurch Middle School competed in their district competition on Dec. 1, at Daingerfield and Dec. 8, at Queen City.
Queen City’s sixth through eighth grade students won the junior high district title by earning 759 points in the competition.
Hughes Springs finished in second place with 593 points and Daingerfield was third with 489 points.
Fifth grade students from Queen City joined with the second through fourth grade students from J.K. Hileman Elementary School and won the elementary district title by earning 478 points. Hooks placed second in the elementary competition with 330 points and Daingerfield was third with 307 points.
Fifth through eighth grade students earned 177 medals for placing in the Top 6 individually or in the Top 3 teams in each event.
