Local Girl Scouts hold roundup Sept. 10
From Staff Reports
LINDEN - Want new and exciting experiences in your life? Join Girl Scouts.
On Sept. 10, at 10 a.m. at the Linden City Park Pavilion on Centerhill Road behind the Linden Methodist Church, and at 2 p.m. at Spring Park, Second Street, Hughes Springs there will be an event for all girls, their parents and adults interested in becoming Girl Scouts.
You may attend either place on Sept. 10 to join a Girl Scout Troop in either Linden or Hughes Springs.
Girl Scouting is open to all girls age 5-17 years of age. Daisy Girl Scouts consist of kindergarten and 1st Grade girls. Brownie Girl Scouts are 2nd and 3rd graders.
Fourth and 5th graders make up Junior Girl Scouts. Cadette Girl Scouts are 6th through 8th graders. Senior Girl Scouts are 10th and 11th grades. Ambassadors are 11th and 12th graders.
There will be games, craft, and a scavenger hunt for the girls and s’mores for all.
Girls will be placed in existing age level troops. If that age level troop is not established, they will try to recruit leaders and form a new troop.
Adult volunteers are also needed. As a volunteer, you can make a difference in the lives of girls today, so they can become leaders of tomorrow.
In order for troop leaders to place girls in troops this year leaders will need to step up. Join us on Sept. 10. Volunteers other than leaders are also needed.
