Local students graduate from Austin College in Sherman

Austin College in Sherman conferred Bachelor of Arts degrees during Commencement exercises May 15, on the campus.
Students with an Austin College cumulative grade point average of 3.85 and above graduate summa cum laude; those with an average of 3.70 through 3.84 graduate magna cum laude; and those with an average of 3.50 through 3.69 graduate cum laude.
Local students who received degrees were Devondria Danyelle Darty of Bivins, who majored in East Asian languages and cultures and minored in Asian studies. She is the daughter of Dedrier Darty of Bivins and Kim Jackson of Atlanta.
Emily Carol-Jean Spears of Bloomburg graduated Magna Cum Laude with majors in English and history. She is the daughter of Beverly DuBal of Bloomburg and Fred and Belinda Spears of Denison
Samantha Nicole Rhyne of Queen City also graduated Magna Cum Laude. She majored in Eastern and Western Medicine and minored in Biology. She is the daughter of Carey Rhyne of Queen City and Brad Rhyne of Linden.
