The Atlanta Education Foundation (AEF) and its Board of Directors will host Blue Jeans & Bling at 6:30 p.m. at the Indian Hills Country Club in Atlanta, Saturday, Feb. 6.
The gala is a fundraiser to support teacher grants and scholarships. To date, the AEF has been able to distribute more than $80,000 to fund innovatve programs. Thanks to the generosity of donors, last year alone, the grants totaled $14,850.
In addition to the teacher grants, the AEF hosts the annual “Walk the Red Carpet” for the top 10 percent of the graduating class of AHS.
Additionally, in partnership with the Atlanta Alumni Association, the AEF sponsors the Outstanding Alumni Awards which are presented annually at AHS Homecoming. The affair will be catered and feature a live auction, hosted by professional auctioneer Shelby Crump.
Some of the treasures that will be up for bids, include:  a Kate Spade purse and wallet, a Michael Kors purse and wallet, a singing Teddy Bear, a Tiffany necklace by Elsa Peretti, a VIP all-sports package with parking pass and an autographed golf memorabilia package, including golf balls, cap and flag.
Dress for Blue Jeans & Bling is casual with “a rhinestone cowboy” flair. Wear your best jeans, boots and hats and get ready for a sensational evening.
Entertainment will be provided by Relentless from Texarkana. The band has been described as a Top 40 country music group, who intertwines some Texas and Red Dirt country, as well as, some older rock classics.
The AEF is a non‐profit organization, which was chartered in 2010, and is comprised of community-minded citizens, who share a vision of enhancing education. The goal of the foundation is to provide Atlanta students with creative learning opportunities, so they can reach the highest levels of achievement.
