Cross Creek to host Local Law Enforcement Day

Congregation hopes to evoke community response in support of officers

Organizers say they believe that there is no better way to support our local law enforcement than through prayer and a showing of support. The movement, which they are calling "Backing the Blue Through Prayer" is inspired by I Thessalonians 5:17 which encourages everyone to "Pray without ceasing."

The congregation will be hosting a Local Law Enforcement Day Oct. 24, 2015 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Cross Creek Cowboy Church. The church is located at 5575 State Hwy. 77E, Atlanta.

So far eight additional churches are involved in hosting the event. The congregation hopes to garner support from local businesses as well.

An organizational meeting was held Monday night to get ready.

On Oct. 24, any law enforcement officer in the area may come for a great brisket lunch and enjoy the activities if possible. Officers will be served first at 11 a.m.
