Early voting is now underway until Oct. 31

Early voting in the Nov. 4 General Election started on Monday. Voters will decide on city, county and state candidates. Voters will be required to provide an acceptable form of photo identification when they vote.
Friday is the deadline to request an absentee ballot to vote by mail. County Clerk said her office has received more than 650 requests for absentee ballots.
Voters who are 65 or older or disabled can vote by mail in addition to voters who will be out of the county during early voting and on Election Day.
Applications for absentee voting may be applied for at the county clerk’s office. Completed and signed applications for ballot by mail should be mailed to Jannis Mitchell, Early Voting Clerk, P.O. Box 449, Linden, Texas 75563.
The request must be received no later than the close of business on Friday, Oct. 24 in writing, by mail. Requests for ballots cannot be made by phone.
Voters must decide which candidate is the best choice as they head to the poll.
