APD arrests brothers on felony charges

A pair of brothers is spending some time in jail after a scuffle got a little out of hand.
On Sept. 14, shortly before 5 p.m. dispatch directed Officer Greg Restelle to the 200 block of Tejas with a report of a disturbance in progress involving a gun.
Upon investigation Restelle learned that Kerry L. Pickett, 38, of Texarkana allegedly struck his brother, Russell Edward Pickett, 32 of Atlanta with the butt of a firearm.
Kerry was arrested on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon on a family member. This is a 2nd degree felony with punishment ranging from two to 20 years in prison and up to a $10,000 fine.
