When combining work and family, nothing can be sweeter, especially when the product of their efforts is honey.
David Kennedy, along with father-in-law Charles Wilcox and son Kason Kennedy, work together in raising honeybees and selling honey.
However, it was not an endeavor they jumped into.
“I did a lot of research a year before we started,” David Kennedy said.
In 2012, Kennedy began researching and reading about honeybees and how to raise them and then, in 2013, he got his first five hives.
Wilcox said he continues to learn about the bees.
“We now have 15 hives of Italian bees and four hives of Russian,” Kennedy said.
