Amateur Radio Week proclaimed in Atlanta

Members of the local chapter of Amateur Radio and Relay League (ARRL), the Radio Amateurs of Cass County (RACC) were on hand at Atlanta City Hall Wednesday, June 18, when Mayor Keith Crow signed a proclamation acknowledging next week from Sunday, June 22, through Sunday, June 29, as Amateur Radio Week in Atlanta.
Mayor Crow was delighted to sign the proclamation honoring the dedicated men and women who take to the airwaves to help their communities in good times and bad, through community events, disaster response and various programs. He commended the members of the local chapter for their help in the past. The proclamation states,” Where as the City of Atlanta, Texas, recognizes and appreciates the diligence of these ‘hams’ who also serve as weather spotters in the Skywarn program of the United States Government Weather Bureau…..and the Amateur Radio and Relay League is the leading organization for amateur radio in the U.S.A……”
