Cass County ladies attended a Friend to Friend Staying Healthy Together luncheon on May 27 at the Linden United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall.
To help women have a better understanding of breast and cervical cancer and the best way to prevent these cancers, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service in Cass County conducted a Friend to Friend party. There was a discussion of the obstacles women may encounter when trying to access mammograms and Pap tests locally. As an ice breaker audience members participated in a skit. Each participant read an excuse for why they don’t get the recommended screenings done.
Participants had an opportunity to visit with exhibitors that conduct these screenings.
Participants learned the importance of mammograms, pap test and other forms of early detection as well as how to access financial resources and area services. Several door prizes were given away at the end of the program.
