Local DRT chapter attends state convention

Seven members of the James Bowie Chapter of Daughters of the Republic of Texas attended the 123rd State Convention from May 21-24 in Lubbock. The theme of the Convention hosted by DRT chapters in District X was “Council Fires on the Llano Estacado.”
The first day of convention was tours of the Lubbock area, including the National Ranching Heritage Center and Museum on the grounds of Proctor Historical Park and Texas Tech University.
Friday included business meetings and a memorial service for deceased DRT members during the past year. James Bowie Chapter members and other chapters of District III honored the memory and service of Janie Hamilton of James Bowie Chapter.
