Library wins grant, gets new computers

Tragedy recently befell the fax machine at the Atlanta Public Library. When one of the employees went to operate it, the scanning bed cover broke completely off of the ancient machine. For a time--in splendid East Texas fashion--the cover was held in place with duct tape.
Library Director Jackie Icenhower placed calls to vendors in order to get a new professional grade all-in-one fax/scanner/copier to replace the old one, but was informed that the cost would be $3,000 for the hardware, software, and installation. There was simply no money in the library’s budget for that level of expenditure, so she went online and searched for a grant.
