Cass appraisal district approves audit report

Cass County Appraisal District received a clean financial audit during its meeting held March 11.
Appraisal board approved the 2013 financial audit presented by Preston Caver, certified public accountant with Moore and Caver, Inc.
Caver said he wished to commend the staff for the quality in which they perform their duties in providing information and attitude of mutual cooperation and willingness to grow/ learn in their duties.
Moore and Caver Inc. was also approved to conduct the 2014 and 2015 financial audits for the district. The cost is not to exceed $3,700 for 2014 and $3,800 for 2015.
Approximately $16,000 was carried over in the budget from 2013. Directors voted that the chief appraiser should refund or credit the 2013 carry over funds per the tax code to the taxing entities.
Tommy Kessler and Charles Snowden were reappointed to the Agricultural Advisory Board.
Director Robert Steger, Byron Terry and Joe Wall were appointed to the district 2015 budget committee.
The board entered executive session to discuss the evaluation, duties and employment of the chief appraiser.
