Commissioners table action on chiller repair proposals

Commissioners agreed to take no action on proposals to repair chiller #2 at the Cass County Law Enforcement and Justice Center Building. During court held Monday John Avey, maintenance supervisor for the county, presented two bids to repair the chiller that went down in August as the result of a lightening strike. Avey told commissioners even if the repairs are made there is no telling how long this chiller will continue to operate because the compressor has been replaced several times. He also noted that a treatment plan for the water system and to flush the lines needs to be done to prevent further damage to the chiller system.
