Community effort draws crowd to discuss water rights

A Cuthand Community effort to further obstruct efforts to build the Marvin Nichols Reservoir drew a large turnout on Jan. 18 by those in opposition, including a number of political personalities. State Representative George Lavender and U.S. House of Representative 4th Congressional district candidates Lou Gigliotti, and Bent Lawson. Gigliotti and Lawson are running against incumbent Ralph Hall.
According to attendees, the meeting was to inform guests of the events that have taken place and that are taking place surrounding local water rights and the proposed reservoir.
