Thirty-eight young area athletes gathered at the Atlanta Sports Complex on Dec. 28, to take part in a baseball clinic put together by Jackie Yates of Cass County Bank in collaboration with hometown MLB athlete Drew Stubbs.
Each group of children in grades 2-6 took part in different drills that taught them how to run bases correctly, field ground balls, catch fly balls and learn the proper techniques for batting stances and hitting.
Along with Stubbs, Queen City’s head baseball coach Mark Stringer, Coach Ricky Rushing and QC ball players Drew Davenport, Kolton Morgan and Kelsie Benson all helped the kids at different stations.
All proceeds from the clinic went to Queen City High School for this year’s Project Graduation. See all the pictures in our e-edition: http://www.etypeservices.com/SWF/LocalUser/Atlanta1//Magazine42586/Full/index.aspx?id=42586
