Myra Mae “Babe” Wooten, 88, of Queen City, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013. She passed away from Cardio Respiratory complications at Christus St. Michael Hospital.
She was born Jan. 25, 1925, in Johntown, Texas. She was a great student and did well in everything she set to accomplish. She met and married Raymond Floyd Wooten and had six children, who are all very accomplished, because of the strength, honesty and work ethic, which she bestowed upon them.
She retired from Guardline Glove Company in Atlanta and was a former employee at Jantzen Knitting Mills in Portland, Ore., for 21 years, where she was noted as the Best Seamstress and therefore, she was asked to train many new hires. She was recognized for helping make the U. S. Olympic swimsuits for the Olympic swimmers. After retiring, her passion was making homemade quilts for her children and grandchildren, whom she loved more than life. More than anything, though, she loved the Lord with her very being. She was a true testimony to many lives she touched. She was an angel on earth and was loved by everyone. She will be truly missed.
She is survived by her beloved six children, Jeannie Heitz, Dennis Wooten, Bonnita Matsuda, Floyd Wooten, Kenneth Wooten and Sidney Wooten; one brother, Harold L. Hervey of Texas; and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who she dearly loved and cherished.
Visitation will be at noon Saturday, Nov. 30, at Hanner Funeral Service.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, at the Hanner Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at Courtland Cemetery in Queen City.
Guest registry is available at www.hannerfuneralservice.com.
