Commissioners approve 2014 budget, tax rate

Cass County Commissioners made quick work out of approving the budget and tax rate during a special court session held Sept. 18.
Cass County Judge Charles McMichael asked commissioners to consider an order to adopt the budget for FY 2013-2014. The motion passed three to one with Precinct 4 Commissioner Darrell Godwin voting against the $10,958,420.77 budget presented.
Commissioners also adopted a rollback tax rate of .5342410 for 2014.
