Lady Bulldogs prevail in tourney

Queen City rolled past some stiff competition on Saturday, Aug. 31, and was crowned tournament champions in the Gold Bracket of the Hughes Springs volleyball tournament.
The Lady ’Dawgs fell to Redwater in the opening set 25-19 before claiming victories in both the second and third sets.
In set one against the Lady Dragons, QC had 10 kills out of 27 attempts at the net with nine of those coming from a combined effort by Kelsie Benson, Brianna “Hot-shot” Watkins and Shaelyn Goecke.
