Awards to be given for safety leadership

(AUSTIN) Each summer in Texas there are hundreds of children injured and killed in accidents – in pools, on bikes, in hot cars. Such accidents are a leading cause of developmental disabilities in children. On Aug. 22 the Texas Office for Prevention of Developmental Disabilities (TOPDD) will honor seven people or organizations that are leaders in working to prevent accidents that cause disabilities.
The 3rd Annual J.C. Montgomery Child Safety Awards will be awarded Thursday, Aug. 22 at 10:00 a.m. in the Lieutenant Governor’s Reception Room at the Texas State Capitol.
