Tigers claim gold, silver at state meet

The Linden-Kildare Tigers’ track season came to an end this past weekend with good results. 
The speedy Tigers traveled to Austin last Thursday so they could compete in the Track & Field State Championship, which ran Friday and Saturday. 
When everything was complete L-K left the capital city with some shiny hardware.
Ja’Kevian Rose competed in the Triple Jump Friday, placing fifth with a jump of 44 feet, 3 1/2 inches, and later that day teammate Ty Patterson competed in the high jump and placed ninth with a jump of 5 feet, 10 inches. Saturday morning Marcus Jones competed in the long jump, placing first with a jump of 23 feet, 1 inch, which broke the school record he previously held. 
Later that day the team of Marcus Jones, Ja’Kevian Rose, Cortez Peterson and Micah Harrison placed second in the 4x200m relay with a time of 1:28.60. 
Jones also competed in the 200, placing seventh with a time of 22.94. 
Overall the Tigers placed ninth in the state in Class 2A with 28 points.
