FM 74 RR crossing in QC to close for repairs

Motorists who normally travel FM 74 in Queen City will need to find an alternate route on Thursday, May 4. Union Pacific Railroad will be closing the highway to through-traffic to make repairs to the rail-road crossing.
Traffic will officially be detoured on a signed route through Atlanta using Loop 236, US 59, FM 249, FM 251 and FM 785. 
Trucks must use the official detour route, but other motorists may use local routes they find more convenient. 
Portable message boards are being placed near the railroad crossing beforehand to warn motorists of the scheduled road closure. The construction schedule and road closure may change due to inclement weather or other unforeseen problems.
