L-K boys crowned district champs

All three factions of Linden-Kildare’s track program enjoyed top three finishing success after the District 15-2A track meet wrapped up April 12.

Varsity Boys
L-K’s varsity boys won the district crown after edging out a strong Clarksville group 158-151.
In the field events De’Undre Williams placed fourth in the shot-put event with a toss of 37 feet, 5.75 inches and Dre’Shawn Williams placed fifth at 36 feet, 9.50 inches.
De’Undre also placed fourth in the discus with a toss of 108 feet, 9 inches.
In the long jump, Marcus Jones soared to a first-place finish at 21 feet, 4 inches; Ja’Kevian Rose placed fourth at 18 feet, 9.50 inches and Cortez Peterson placed fifth at 18 feet, 9 inches.
In the triple jump, Rose placed second at 42 feet, 8 .25 inches and Peterson placed fourth at 40 feet, 1 inch. In the high jump, Ty Patterson and Marquise Jones placed 2-3 as they hit marks of 6 feet even.
On the oval Caleb Cunningham and Rose placed 2-3 in the 100m dash at 11.40 and 11.56 respectively; Micah Harrison and Marcus Jones placed 1-2 in the 200m dash at 22.78 and 22.92; Marquise Jones placed second in the 110m hurdles at 16.90; Marquise placed first in the 300m hurdles with a time of 43.31 while teammate Konner Durham placed fourth at 46.76 and Patterson placed fourth in the 800m run at 2:21.06.
In the relays the 4x100m team of Harrison, Rose, Marcus Jones and LaDavion Johnson placed second at 43.67; the 4x200m team of Johnson, Rose, Peterson and Harrison placed second at 1:32.90 and the 4x400m team of Durham, Marcus Jones, Peterson and Marquise Jones placed second at 3:36.29.
Any top four finisher moves on to the area meet.

Varsity Girls
The Lady Tigers were not far off the mark as they placed third which was just seven points from taking second.
MaKayla Martin placed third in the shot put with a toss of 28 feet, 2 inches; Kayla Hines placed second in the long jump at 14 feet, 8 inches and fourth in the triple jump at 31 feet, 4.75 inches and Jada Madlock placed sixth in the long jump at 13 feet, 4.50 inches.
On the track, Kayden Wells placed sixth in the 100m dash at 13.96; Hines placed first in the 200m dash at 26.47 while Zar Mitchell placed sixth at 28.24; Ashley Bell placed fifth in the 400m dash at 1:10.39 and Madlock placed second in the 300m hurdles at 54.90.
In the 800m run Peyton Turner placed second at 2:40.15 and Kassity Hernandez placed fifth at 2:46.36; in the 1600m run Turner placed fifth at 6:24.01 and in the 3200m run Alayna Mason placed fifth at 15:00.20.
In the relays the 4x100m team of Mitchell, Skylar Vaughn, Treasure Hines and Kayla Hines placed third at 52.83; the 4x200m team of the same ladies placed first at 1:53.90 and the 4x400m team of Bell, Jaimya Gaston, Marissa Tyson and Savannah Hoover placed sixth at 4:55.52.        Any top four finisher moves on to the area meet.

JV Boys
The junior varsity boys placed second behind a strong Clarksville team.
In the field events Nate Holloway placed first in the triple jump with a leap of 37 feet, 9 inches, placed fourth in the discus at 84 feet, 10 inches and sixth in the shot-put event at 30 feet, 1/2 inch and teammate Dayton Hamilton placed first in the long jump at 16 feet, 9.50 inches.
On the track, Holloway placed first in the 100m dash at 11.84 and Kaden Graves placed sixth at 12.62; Graves and Hamilton placed 3-4 in the 200m dash at 26.77 and 26.85 respectively; Hamilton placed first at 58.77 and Mohab Khorshid fifth at 1:03.61 in the 400m dash and Jonathan Money placed first in the 800m run at 2:24.20.
In the relays the 4x100m team of Red Tyson, Hamilton, Graves and Holloway placed second at 48.71.
