Queen City Bass Fishing Association members compete at Lake O’ the Pines

Queen City’s Bass Fishing Association (BFA) competed in its first big tournament the weekend of April 1, on Lake O’ the Pines. All four teams caught fish and were able to participate in the weigh in.
The team of Kyle Parker and Ryan Ream finished the tournament in second place with five fish weighing almost 19 pounds. The team of Dylan Benson and Preston Pierce finished in 36th place with two fish weighed in, Jacey Griggs and Jordan Wiley finished in 37th place with two fish weighed in and Skyler Kilgore and Carson Dillinger finished in 41st place with one fish weighed in.
There were 46 boats in the first-ever Fishing League Worldwide (FLW) High School Open Tournament in the state of Texas. There were teams from all over the state along with teams from Louisiana and Arkansas.
FLW extends an invitation the top 10 percent from the open tournaments to their FLW National High School Championship Tournament. Kyle and Ryan’s second place finish qualified them for the FLW National High School Tournament in Florence, Ala., on Pickwick Lake coming up June 27-July 1.
QC BFA will host a fish fry fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Cass County Bank in Queen City, Saturday, May 20.
“We would like to invite everyone out to support our kids and the great activities they are getting to experience,” Queen City Assistant Principal Mike Dillinger said.  “We will be accepting donations for the meals served at the fundraiser and we will have a bake sale also.”
For any questions or concerns you can contact Mr. Dillinger or Courtney Allen at 903-796-8259.
