Atlanta
Atlanta played a double-header on March 3 in Lufkin against Northside Christian from Conroe and Lufkin.
In the game against Northside Christian Atlanta took a, 3-1, lead into the fifth inning, but the Lions outscored the Rabbs 7-2 down the stretch to notch the, 8-5, win.
Andy Samples, Layton Henson and B.J. Hammonds were all 1-for-3 with the latter two players adding an RBI apiece.
Jose Arredondo, Nick Hale and Davis Flint all shared time on the hill.
In game two, Atlanta fell to Lufkin, 5-2.
Flint hit a 2-RBI single, Hale had a double and Arredondo added a single for the Rabbits.
Slayton Holland, Hammonds and Grant Harrell all had a turn on the mound.
Atlanta will compete in the Pittsburg Tournament beginning on Thursday, March 9, and continuing through the 11th.

Queen City Baseball
Queen City took part in the Big Sandy Tournament on March 2, and March 3, and the Bulldogs not only collected three wins but outscored the opposition, 41-0.
In game one, QC topped Van’s junior varsity team, 11-0, behind a combined shutout effort by Ray Cook and Easton Fincher.
Queen City took an early lead in the first inning off of a Rob Hill groundout, and scored five runs in the second inning which began with a single off the bat of Bradley Norton.
Cook earned the win for Queen City after tossing three innings, giving up zero runs, one hit, and striking out two.
The Bulldogs had seven hits in the game. Kade Brooks, Kyle Parker, and Jaeger Jaynes each collected multiple hits.
In the second game, Hill tossed a 2-hit, shutout of his own in a, 14-0, route of host Big Sandy.
Queen City scored five runs in the third inning with RBIs from Jaynes, Cook and Josue Rea.
Hill earned the win after going three innings, surrendering zero runs, two hits, and striking out four.
Rea, Cook, and Brooks all had one hits in the contest and Nate Burden led the Bulldogs with three stolen bags.
In the third game, Rea tossed the third shutout for QC in the tournament as the Bulldogs beat Winona, 16-0.
Rea allowed just two hits in three innings while striking out five batters.
QC (4-2) scored 10 runs in the second inning prompting the mercy rule after three innings.
Jaynes and Cook each managed two hits to lead Queen City from the plate.
The Bulldogs are playing aggressive baseball under Head Coach David Kennedy as they racked up 11 stolen bases with Burden again leading the way with three of those 11.

Queen City Softball
The Lady Bulldogs competed in the Elysian Fields tourney last weekend, and went 5-1 after playing in six games.
In game one, sophomore pitcher Marlee Durmon tossed a 3-hit shutout in QC’s, 10-0, win over Sabine. Durmon ended the game with six strikeouts in five innings of work.
Queen City scored two runs in the second and fifth innings and scored three runs in both the third and fourth innings while slamming out 16 hits.
Jacie Lance was 3-for-3 with two RBIs, Tiera Johnson was 3-for-3 with an RBI and Durmon was 2-for-2 with two ribbies.
Maci Stringer, Emily Maxwell, Cori Lang and Brooklyn Sykes all had hits in the contest with one RBI apiece, and both Jayley Stringer and Kenadi Meador added hits in the game.
In game two, Queen City topped Garrison, 10-6.
Garrison took a, 3-0, lead after one inning of play but Queen City scored all 10 runs in the second inning.
Garrison scored three more runs in the third but not enough for a comeback. Both Durmon and Sykes shared time in the circle.
Jayley Stringer had three RBIs and a triple to her credit, Johnson added two RBIs and Meador was 2-for-2 with a triple and an RBI.
Lance, Lang and Sykes each had RBI hits and both Maci Stringer and added hits in the contest.
In game three, the Lady Bulldogs suffered only their second loss of the season after losing to a tough Marshall team, 3-1.
Sykes went the distance in five innings with seven scattered hits.
Lang had the lone RBI for QC which came on a double, Maxwell was 2-for-2 and Maci Stringer had the only other hit in the game.
In game four of the tourney, Queen City fell behind Gladewater, 6-2, after two innings but the Lady Bulldogs put up six runs over the next two innings to claim an, 8-6, win.
Lang scattered six hits over three innings and was 1-for-3 from the dish with an RBI.
Jayley Stringer, Lance, Maxwell and Sykes contributed multiple hits in the game, and Maci Stringer, Durmon and Lang had one hit contributions.
In the fifth matchup, QC was shut down for five of the six innings as Elkhart took a, 4-0, lead into the sixth, but the Lady Bulldogs scored six runs in the sixth to claim a, 6-4, victory.
Lang and Durmon both shared time in the circle.
From the dish Durmon and Jayley Stringer had two hits each with three RBIs between the two players.
Lang, Sykes, Maxwell, Meador and Maci Stringer each had one hit, one RBI donations in the game.
In the final game Queen City was matched up with host Elysian Fields.
QC scored three runs in the first inning and held on for a, 4-3, win over the Lady Yellowjackets.
Lang pitched three innings with three scattered hits and five Ks.
Meador was 2-for-2 with an RBI, Jayley Stringer and Durmon both had RBI singles, and the Lady Bulldogs recorded hits from Macey Belote, Jacie Lance, Maci Stringer and Sykes.
