Atlanta Rabbs track participates at Pine Tree

Atlanta’s track program started off the year by taking part in the Graham Knowles Meet at Pine Tree High School on Feb. 25.

Varsity Boys
The varsity boys placed fourth behind John Tyler, Pine Tree and just missed beating Texas High by five points.
In the 200m dash Desmond Webster placed fourth at 22.67, Luke Anthony placed sixth in the 400m dash at 52.43, Cade Rosser placed fifth in the 800m run at 2:07.12 and Calvin Rowe placed third in the 110m hurdles at 16.79 and second in the 300m hurdles at 42.77.
The 4x100m relay team of Trin Taylor, Nick Cooper, Kelton Young and Ahmad Dickerson placed third, the 4x200m relay team of Taylor, Young, Webster and Austin Brown placed first at 1:31.50 and the 4x400m relay team of Taylor, Anthony, Rowe and Brown placed third at 3:30.46.
In the long jump Taylor placed first with a leap of 21 feet, 1 inch and placed second in the triple jump at 43 feet, 3 inches. In the high jump Tristan Allen placed third at 5 feet, 8 inches and Quentin Rowe placed fifth at 5 feet, 6 inches.
Desmond Robinson placed fourth in the discus event with a toss of 41 feet, 1/4 inches.

Varsity Girls
The varsity girls placed fourth as well and were just three points from topping Texas High for third.
In the 100m dash Aniya King placed second at 12.65 and King also placed fourth in the 200m dash at 26.69.
In the 400m dash Sheveonia Smith placed first with a time of 1:00.58, Hannah Wicks placed first in the 800m run at 2:34.77 and in the 300m hurdles Kitty McCauley placed sixth at 54.62.
In the 4x100m relay King, Smith, Teshuna Sheppard and Richonda Harris placed second at 50.13.
In the 4x400m relay Harris, Wicks, Sheppard and Smith placed second at 4:20.20.
In the triple jump event Sheppard sailed to a first place finish at 37 feet, 4 1/2 inches, Starr Davis placed third in the pole vault with a mark of 7 feet, 6 inches and Haley Sprayberry placed sixth in the high jump with a mark of 4 feet, 10 inches.

JV Boys
The junior varsity boys placed third which was just six points from topping Texas High.
In the 100m dash Jawan King and Reggie Blaylock placed first and third respectively with times of 11.31 and 11.50.
King also placed first in the 200m dash at 23.15 and Caleb Coleman placed sixth at 23.94.
Hunter Belk placed second in the 400m dash at 55.90 while Treyvon Powell placed fourth at 56.65.
Cameron Carney placed first in the 800m run at 2:15.08, Josiah Henderson placed third in the 1600m run at 5:24.77 and fourth in the 3200m and Connor Samples placed fifth in the 300m hurdles at 45.61.
The 4x200m relay team of Nick Washington, Farron Hall, DeAngelo Coleman and Marques Banks placed third at 1:38.32, and the 4x400m relay team of Samples, Powell, Washington and Belk placed second at 3:46.16.
Cade Fant placed third in the shot put event with a toss of 35 feet, 7 inches, Belk placed sixth in the pole vault event with a mark of 8 feet, 6 inches and Jacorian Fields placed sixth at 5 feet, 2 inches.
