Lady Bulldogs headline All-District awards

The 14-3A All-District girls’ basketball list was recently released, and the Queen City Lady Bulldogs headlined the superlative honors.
Junior baller Jessica Jones was named MVP of District 14-3A. 
Jones finished the year with 529 points which was an average of 23.0 points per game.
She also racked up 123 total rebounds, 42 assists, 36 steals, 66 treys and 19 blocks.
From the field Jones shot 55 percent and was 78 percent from the free throw line.
Junior Jacie Lance was named Co - Offensive Player of the Year after putting up 374 total points which was an average of 13.9 points per game.
Lance had 122 rebounds, 94 assists, 38 steals, shot 65 percent from the charity stripe and was 45 percent from the field.
First-year Head Coach Janice McMellon was named Coach of the Year after leading the Lady Bulldogs to a 14-0 district record and district championship.
Sophomore Ciara “CeCe” Walker was named to the First Team after turning in a spectacular performance under the basket.
Walker did post 105 points but led the team in rebounds with 198. She also recorded 13 blocks, 13 deflections, was 44 percent from the field and 47 percent from the line.
Junior Madison Jones was named to the Second Team after putting up 116 points and grabbing 156 rebounds. 
Jones also had 30 assists, 21 steals, 10 blocks, shot 48 percent from the field and shot 63 percent from the free throw line.
Juniors Emily Maxwell and Tiera Johnson were both named to the Honorable Mention list for their contributions.
Maxwell came off of the bench for the Lady Bulldogs and made an immediate impact when Coach McMellon needed her to.
She finished with 74 points, 51 boards, 11 assists, shot 60 percent from the line and shot 41 percent from the field.
Johnson finished the year with 109 points, 97 rebounds, 33 assists, 10 steals and shot 45 percent from the line.
Lady Bulldogs making the Academic All-District list were: Darian Giles, Kei Gamble, Jacie Lance, Jessica Jones, Madi Jones, Tiera Johnson, Emily Maxwell, Colleen Kilgore, CeCe Walker and Ali Chischilly.
