Queen City Powerlifting

Queen City’s powerlifting season is underway and both the boys’ and girls’ teams have set the bar after two events.
On Jan. 21, the program took part in the Ore City meet.
Drake Moore placed third in the 132-pound weight class with a total of 575 pounds; Walker Kennedy placed eighth in the 148-pound weight class with a total of 595 pounds; David Price placed fifth in the 165-pound class with a total of 900; Colton Cayton placed seventh in the 165-pound weight class with a total of 855 pounds; Mason Brady placed ninth in the 165-pound weight class with a total of 815 pounds; Matthew Davenport placed 12th in the 165-pound weight class with a total of 785 pounds; Hunter Brannon placed 16th in the 165-pound weight class with a total of 665 pounds; Cody Campbell placed second in the 181-pound weight class with a total of 970 pounds; Dalton Howell placed third in the 220-pound weight class with a total of 1,080 pounds; Daniel Keene placed fifth in the 220-pound class with a total of 955 pounds; Dylan Savage placed third in the 242-pound weight class with a total of 1,105 pounds and Christian Little placed first in the 275-pound weight class with a total of 1,175 pounds.
For the ladies Jacey Griggs finished seventh in her weight class with a total of 445 pounds; Brooklyn Sykes finished ninth with a total of 385 pounds; Erica Jones placed third with a total of 490 pounds; Elizabeth Revey placed ninth with a total of 380 pounds; Chey Hill placed first with a total of 595 pounds; Abby Watkins placed fifth with a total of 515 pounds; Macey Belote placed sixth with a total of 505 pounds; Alyssa Clements placed third with a total of 680 pounds and Mikaela Cottrell placed eighth with a total of 380 pounds.
On Feb. 4, the Bulldog lifters competed in the Wildcat Invitational hosted by Emory Rains High School.
There were plenty of schools present with plenty of lifters and the classes ranged from 1A to 5A.
For the boys Price placed third with a total of 930 pounds; Brady was seventh with a total of 845 pounds; Kennedy was 14th with a total of 645 pounds; Davenport was 13th with a total of 830 pounds; Brannon was 16th with a total of 665 pounds; Kody Nichols placed ninth with a total of 965; Colton Davis was 12th with a total of 925 pounds; Copeland Keener was seventh with a total of 940 pounds; Keene finished 10th with a total of 1,005 pounds; Savage placed fifth with a total of 1,190 and Little placed third with a total of 1,260.
Clements turned in a first place finish for the ladies with a total lift of 705 pounds; Griggs placed fifth with a total of 450 pounds; Jones placed fourth with a total of 510 pounds; Sykes placed seventh with total of 455 pounds; Maggie Clark placed 11th with a total of 610 pounds; Revey placed 18th with a total of 410 pounds; Hill was fourth with a total of 640 pounds; Belote lifted a total of 565 pounds for 11th place in her weight class; Watkins placed 14th with a total of 525 pounds; Darian Giles placed fourth with a total of 580 pounds and Cottrell placed sixth with a total of 525 pounds.
On Feb. 15, the Queen City powerlifting program took part in the Redwater Invitational.
Drake Moore lifted a total of 575 pounds in the 132-pound weight class, David Price placed second in his weight class with a total of 975 pounds, Walker Kennedy placed fourth in his class with a total of 645 pounds, Hunter Brannon placed fifth in his class with a total of 690 pounds.
In the 165-pound weight class Cody Campbell, Colton Davis and Kody Nichols placed 4-5-6 with total lifts of 1,005 pounds, 980 pounds and 955 pounds respectively.
Copeland Keener placed fifth in his class with a total of 925 pounds, Dylan Savage placed second in his class with a total of 1,215 pounds and Christian Little placed first in the 275-pound weight class with a total of 1,360 pounds.
The Lady Bulldog lifters placed first overall beating second place Liberty-Eylau by 21 points.
Erica Jones, Brooklyn Sykes and Jacey Griggs finished 1-2-3 in their weight class with totals of 535 pounds, 480 pounds and 480 pounds respectively.
Maggie Clark and Elizabeth Revey placed 2-3 in their weight class with totals of 615 pounds and 550 pounds respectively.
Macey Belote and Abbie Watkins placed 1-2 in their weight class with totals of 605 and 505 pounds respectively, and Alyssa Clements and Mikayla Cotrell finished first and third respectively with totals of 740 pounds and 475 pounds.
On Feb. 18, the Queen City boys took part in the Maud Invitational and took third overall.
David price took third in his weight class with a total of 965 pounds, Mason Brady placed eight with a total of 785 pounds and Walker Kennedy placed 11th with a total of 650 pounds.
Cody Campbell, Colton Davis and Kody Nichols placed 1-3-4 in the 181-pound weight class with totals of 1,020, 970 and 935 pounds respectively.
Copeland Keener placed fourth in his weight class with a total of 935 pounds, Dylan Savage placed third in his class with a total of 1,195 pounds, Daniel Keene placed eighth in his class with a total of 1,085 and Christian Little placed first in his weight class with a total of 1,365 pounds.
