Atlanta

On Jan. 31, the Lady Rabbits clipped rival Liberty-Eylau, 69-68, and claimed a playoff spot in the process.
Most of the contest Atlanta was in control as they took a, 31-23, halftime lead and extended that to, 53-41, after three quarters of play.
L-E made a ferocious attempt in the fourth quarter as they outscored Atlanta 27-16, but in the end the Lady Rabbs held on for a one-point victory.
Keyona Easter had a team-high 24 points, TeShuna Sheppard added 15 points with nine boards, Brittany Collins scored 14 points, Sheveonia Smith had eight and Kinsey Kelly five.

Queen City

On Jan. 31, the Queen City boys defeated Redwater, 68-32. Queen City hit 13 threes on the night. 
Alex Carver led the way with 15 points, including four treys; Tyler Adcock added 13 points with four three pointers; Tyler Nolen posted nine points; and Easton Fincher had seven points. 
Queen City’s record after that win was (18-10, 7-3).
The JV boys also won, defeating Redwater, 46-40. Tyler Walraven led the way with 12 points. 
The JV is 7-1 in district play as of this game.
The Lady Bulldogs continued its march towards a perfect district record with a, 51-46, win over Redwater.
Jessica Jones had 17 points and eight boards; Jacie had 13 points, including being 7-of-10 from the line, with seven boards; Tierra added 10 points and 10 rebounds; Madi Jones had seven points with six boards and CeCe Walker pulled down 14 rebounds.
The win clinched QC’s sixth girls’ district championship in school history and first in 40 years.

McLeod

On Jan. 31, the Longhorns topped Linden-Kildare, 56-49, in district play.
J.R. Smith had 22 points in the contest; Colby Smith added 13; Zach Prince and Ryan Anderson both scored nine points and Blake Williams added three.
The Lady Longhorns beat L-K, 55-39.
Tessa Glenn had a team-high 24 points; Shelby Davis added 12; Selena Moon posted seven; Emma Parker four and both Anna Parker and teammate Bailey Alexander scored three each.
