Twenty-one band members from Queen City make All-Region

The All-Region band consists of approximately 200 students from 42 schools. Auditions for the middle school All-Region were held in Nov. and high school auditions were held in Dec.
Six band members from Morris Upchurch Middle School’s band and 15 Queen City High School band students qualified for a chair through those auditions. These students and their directors travelled on Jan. 20, to assemble with their respective All-Region Band in Gladewater and White Oak. They spent two clinic days learning and rehearsing the music to be performed for the public concert. The All- Region Middle School Band performed at Gladewater High School and the All-Region High School Band performed at White Oak High School on Jan. 21. The six students from M.U.M.S. to qualify were: Madison Dunn 19th Chair Clarinet, Luke Niedens second chair French horn, Camryn Allen sixth chair French Horn, Kaitlyn Lee eighth chair Clarinet, Austin McGee 10th chair Trumpet and Parker Johnson 13th chair Trumpet.
The 15 students from Queen City High School to qualify were: Ryan Boitnott, Sarah Kubin, Cody Clark, Jake Rankin, Jay Patel, Konnor McCasland, Jordan Bowen, Dakota Blaydes, Adam Bowen, Savannah Jensen, Maia Brown, Austin Dotson, Lauren Upchurch, Kelly Allen and Madeline Corn. Of those 15, Allen, Corn, Boitnott, Rankin, Patel, McCasland and Blaydes advanced to the Area round.
