Band of Champions’ members notch regional honors

On Dec. 10, Queen City Band of Champions’ members tried out for Region Band against other 1A-4A bands in the region which are all in the northeast Texas area. The region stretches from Paris to White Oak.
After a day of performances 15 students qualified for Region Band.
Just making the Region band qualified the students to be Area Qualifiers which stretches the entire span of east Texas. 
Tryouts for All-State will be on Jan. 7, at Chapel Hill High School in Tyler. At this audition, if they perform well enough, they will be selected into the All-State band and will be have the opportunity to play in a clinic and concert on Jan. 20-21 at White Oak High School.  
The 15 students who made Region Band are as follows: Sarah Kubin - Flute - Symphonic Band 5th chair; Madeline Corn - Clarinet - Area Qualifier - Wind Ensemble 8th Chair; Maia Brown - Clarinet - Symphonic Band 14th Chair; Lauren Upchurch - Clarinet - Symphonic Band 18th Chair; Jake Rankin - Trumpet - Area Qualifier - Wind Ensemble 4th Chair; Konnor McCasland - Trumpet - Area Qualifier - Wind Ensemble 6th Chair; Adam Bowen - Trumpet - Symphonic Band - 9th Chair; Cody Clark - Trumpet - Symphonic Band - 10th Chair; Savannah Jensen - French Horn - Symphonic Band 6th Chair; Jay Patel - Euphonium - Area Qualifier - Wind Ensemble 2nd Chair; Dakota Blaydes - Euphonium - Area Qualifier - Symphonic Band 1st Chair; Kelly Allen - Percussion - Area Qualifier - Wind Ensemble 5th Chair; Ryan Boitnott - Percussion - Area Qualifier - Wind Ensemble 6th Chair; Jordan Maxwell - Percussion - Symphonic Band 1st Chair and Austin Dotson - Percussion - Symphonic Band 2nd Chair.
