Upcoming events at L-K CISD

By Superintendent Trevor Rogers

Addressing facilities continue to be a priority for our district! We need your help! We have heard from many over the last few months that the community would support our addressing maintenance needs through volunteer programs. Here is your chance!
On Saturday, Dec. 10 we will be having a community wide maintenance day. We will be doing a lot of painting, clearing fence lines, and many other tasks.
We will meet at the L-KCISD Admin. office at 9:00 AM. Each campus will have a site coordinator that will guide our volunteers as to what needs to be done.
Once everyone has had a chance to organize at the administration office, we will disperse to the different campuses. We will be cooking hot dogs and hamburgers for lunch. We will supply the materials and supplies, we just need you! Thank you in advance for your help in improving our facilities.
Last year, we started the L-KCISD Scholarship Fund. Throughout the year, we will have a wide range of activities and events that serve as fund raisers for the scholarship fund.
Our next event will be Monday, December 19th on which we will be having a Christmas Bazaar. The event will consist of several vendors selling a wide range of products. If you are a vendor and you would like to have a space, or if you know someone who might be interested, please notify Mrs. Jenifer Stewart, our High School Counselor, at 903-756-5314 ext. 4101. Along with the vendors, we will also be having a baked goods sale. If you would be willing to contribute a baked good, you can contact Mrs. Stewart as well.

For entertainment, several of our students will be singing a wide variety of Christmas songs. We will be in the High School Gym from 5:00-8:00 PM. We look forward to seeing you there and we appreciate your support of the scholarship program!
In spite of the fact that we have had unusually warm weather for this time of year, we are fast approaching the time when we may be faced with severe weather conditions that may affect the school day. In cases where we have a school closing, we will use the following media outlets:
TV
KTBS-Channel 3
KTAL-Channel 6
KSLA-Channel 12
Radio
KPYN 900 AM-95.5
KMHT-103.9-Marshall
KYKX-105.7-Longview
STAR 96.9-Mt. Pleasant
Please be sure to check these sources in cases of snow/icy conditions.
We will also be using the School Reach-district wide call system to get the word out. If you are a parent of an L-K student and you are not in the system, but you would like to be added, please let us know by calling the campus office of the location your child attends school. Also, please let us know if you have changed contact numbers recently so that we have your information in the system accurately.
Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns about the district! We appreciate your help and support!
