Morris Upchurch Middle School’s girls’ basketball teams faced off against Redwater recently.
The seventh grade Lady Bulldogs played a hard game but ultimately lost 36-12. 
The seventh graders played hard the entire game but just couldn’t get the shots they needed to fall. The leading scorer for the Lady Bulldogs was Destinee Wells with eight points. 
The eighth grade Lady Bulldogs showed up ready to fight for their first district win. 
The young Lady Bulldogs played hard for four quarters but ultimately fell 21-18. 
Hannah Fitts was the leading scorer for the Lady Bulldogs with seven points.  
“I am very proud of both of these groups of girl’s willingness to learn the game,” Coach Bekkah Crisp said. “Each time they come into the gym they are ready to work hard and listen to improve their game.”
Queen City’s junior high girls’ basketball team traveled to New Boston recently to compete in their third district game.
The seventh graders pulled out a win in a very stressful 23-22 contest. The leading scorer for the night was Destinee Wells with 11 points.  
“Things are starting to click with these girls and they are learning a lot about the game of basketball,” Coach Bekkah Crisp said.
The eighth graders lost 40-19. The leading scorer for the night was Hannah Fitts with six points.  
“These girls are giving their all each night and are starting to meet team goals during game nights,” Crisp added.

McLeod
McLeod’s seventh and eighth grade boys’ basketball teams both enjoyed wins over James Bowie recently.
The seventh grade team won 28-11 behind Tyler Williams’ 17 point outburst, and the eighth grade team dominated the Pirates 42-14 with Nos Gryder leading all scorers with 14 points.

Atlanta
Atlanta’s Lady Rabbs’ basketball team has been busy as well.
The team recently played two caliber opponents in Spring Hill and Center.
The Lady Rabbs topped Spring Hill 44-40 with Keyona Easter putting up 22 points and Shevonia Smith adding 14.
Against Center the Lady Rabbs rolled 55-33.
Easter led with 17 points, Smith had 14 and Avery Trotter poured in 10.
