Tigers fall to undefeated Rebels

The Linden-Kildare Tigers faced a fierce opponent last Friday night when they entered the Rivercrest Swamp and took on the 6-0 Rebels.  
Rivercrest would continue their winning spree with a final score of 66-34 over the Tigers.
“I am extremely proud of our effort against a really good football team,” Athletic Director - Head Football Coach Derek Simmons said.  “The kids played with a lot of heart and desire and showed great teamwork Friday night.”
The Tigers offense, led by Marty Johnson, would gain a total of 327 yards: 222 on the ground and 105 in the air.  
Johnson passed for 97 yards and Ja’Kevian Rose would complete a pass to Johnson for eight yards and a Tiger touchdown.
Rose grabbed four receptions for 72 yards and Cortez Peterson would have three for 25 yards.
On the ground, Rose scrambled for 90 yards, Johnson for 68, Ladavian Johnson for 43 and Micah Harrison would add 21 yards for the Tigers.
Marty Johnson would also lead the Tigers in scoring with one rushing TD and the one reception from Rose. 
Peterson, Rose and Harrison had a TD each with Caleb Cunningham and Rose also adding two points each to the scoreboard for the Tigers with PAT’s.
Defensively, Ty Patterson would lead the Tigers with 21 tackles giving him 87 for the season, L. Johnson would reel in 11 giving him 57 for the season, and Cunningham with nine tackles.
Rose would have one interception and a 15 yard gain for the Tigers.
The Tigers will observe Homecoming Friday night as they take on the James-Bowie Pirates at Jack Hetherington-Tiger Stadium.  
James-Bowie comes into this game with a record of 3-4 (2-0 in district).
