Lady Rabbs survive battle with L-K

Playing rivals in any sport can be fun, but it can also be exhausting at times.
On Aug. 30, the Lady Rabbits traveled to Linden-Kildare for a match up against the Lady Tigers.
The volleyball contest resembled a tennis match as the two teams battled back and forth, but in the end the Lady Rabbs came away with a hard fought victory in five sets.
Atlanta won the first set, 25-16, but L-K took the second set 19-25.
Atlanta took the third set, 25-22, only to watch L-K take the fourth set by the same score of, 22-25.
The Lady Rabbits put the game away with an intense19-17, victory in set five.
Amanda Whatley led Atlanta with 19 points served; Alecia Garcia posted six digs; TeShuna Sheppard had 13 kills; Sheveonia Smith added a solo block and Avery Trotter recorded three aces, one solo block and 33 assists.
The varsity takes part in the Mt. Vernon Tournament on Sept. 8-10 with times to be announced.
