Queen City’s varsity volleyball team hosted Airline High School from Bossier City on Aug. 30.

Jessica Jones had 10 kills and three blocks, Jayley Stringer posted 11 digs and Maci Stringer recorded 19 assists.
On Sept. 1, the Queen City Junior High Lady Bulldogs traveled to Paul Pewitt to compete in their first game of the new season.
Both the seventh and eighth grade B teams for QC brought home their first wins of the young season.
The seventh grade A team, led by Coach Katelyn Fielder, started the A team games off with 25-21 and 25-16 consecutive wins over the Lady Brahmas, bringing home their first ever district win. The seventh grade Lady Bulldogs were led in serving by Destinee Wells with 17 total serving points.
The eighth grade A team, led by Coach Paige Grey, led the eighth graders into their first nail biting district win over Paul Pewitt. The Lady Bulldogs won the first set 25-18, before falling 26-24 in the second set; however, the girls left town with a district win after edging Pewitt 26-24 in the final set.
High servers for eighth grade team were Gracie Weeks and Hannah Fitts with 11 points each.
Coach Bekkah Crisp had this to say about the junior Lady Bulldogs’ performance.
“I am very excited to see what these ladies all have ahead of them this year. We have a great group of competitive girls that will succeed with hard work and determination on reaching their goals,” Crisp said. “I am also extremely grateful to have two new awesome coaches leading our girls to reach their highest potential and become ready to compete at the high school level.”
