Carlos Ibarra has been able to achieve more in 24 years of his life than most people do in a lifetime.
The 2010 Atlanta High School graduate was captain of the soccer team for three years during his high school career, and also received First Team All-District and First Team All-Northeast Texas honors two consecutive years.
Ibarra attended Arkansas Tech University where he had a membership in the Soccer Club, received captain and MVP honors during his senior year, collected ATU honors for all four years of his collegiate career and served as quarterback for the Arkansas Tech football program from 2010-12.
He also served as Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity as vice president of recruiting and was head of philanthropy and alumni events.
The outstanding student-athlete earned a place on the Dean’s List in multiple semesters and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and an associate’s degree in nuclear technology.
Shortly after graduating college Ibarra was invited to attend the PSC Ltd. Company summer European Development Soccer Tour in Finland and Sweden.
Over the course of three days, Ibarra competed against other aspiring individuals in hopes of being named as one of the players that would get a chance to make an international soccer club.
After impressing the powers that be Ibarra was invited to join the Pro Soccer Consulting Ltd. residential pro-development program in Örebro, Sweden.
He was took part in the St. Louis FC Trial, USL in Jan. 2015, the SK Sifhalla Trial, Swedish 4th Division, and the BK Forward Trial, Swedish 1st Division.
With a regal résumé, Ibarra eventually fulfilled a life-long dream when he signed a pro club contract with 4th Division Visby AIK out of Sweden where he scored 15 goals in 20 career appearances.
The striker/attacking midfielder accomplished this feat in 11 of 13 games played.
Earlier this year he returned to Visby AIK for the start of the season. During the first half of the season, he scored 11 goals and produced two assists during the first 13 games.
Even though Visby AIK was struggling sitting in the relegation zone, his stats were still good enough to be near the top of the league for Division 4.
As the team entered the midseason break and summer transfer window, Ibarra was able to trial and sign with Division 3 side Dalhem IF for the rest of the season. Dalhem IF plays in the Norra Svealand League in the 3rd Division.
“I am very excited about the opportunity to play at a higher division and the challenge that comes with proving your worth,” Ibarra said. “I have never been one to shy away from a challenge and I will not start now. This is a huge stepping stone for me and hopefully with many more to follow.”
When he arrived at the practice field with his new club Ibarra noticed a significant difference.
“Upon arriving with the new club, I noticed right away during the first practice that it was a bit of a faster pace and would require me being at my best at all times,” Ibarra remarked. “It took a bit of getting used to the intensity and change of pace, but I can say that I am beginning to hit my stride.”
With the new division and practice regimen, Ibarra reminisced on how difficult his transition was to the professional ranks and thought of something he could do to help others who are taking or will take the same journey.
“Upon my return from Sweden last year I realized how difficult it was for me to break through the professional barrier and that maybe there were other athletes trying to accomplish similar feats. During my journey I didn’t have the money needed to hire a personal trainer or someone to work with me on a regular basis,” Ibarra recalled.
“I remember during my years preparing, I would stay up searching the internet for hours at a time trying to find drills and ideas to develop my own methods in order to improve my game. I created Limitless Athletic Development in hopes of helping those with limited budgets that want to improve their game by providing them with every tool and insight that I have learned over the years in order to help them succeed.”
LAD is an online based soccer training company that Ibarra founded for individuals who want to take their game to the next level like he did, but don’t have to spend as much money with personal trainers.
With LAD, he personally trains players with his online software and video tutorials.
“I basically took everything that I learned over the years to train to develop myself into what I am today and put it all into one website,” Ibarra said.
“Essentially at LAD you can get your personal trainer and coach for a fraction of the cost.
With our personalized soccer workouts, performance training, and nutrition we make sure every player gets the attention that they need. All of this is possible with our online software program and video tutorials,” Ibarra added. “These tools allow us to personally write each player’s scripts with the visual aids to go with it for your workouts on your phone or computer.
The software also enables us to receive feedback from our athletes with video uploading and messaging, giving us the insight to give our athletes exactly what they want and need.”
Of course when a business adventure of this caliber presents itself often times other companies will step in and help out.
“Recently we also partnered with Pro Soccer Consulting as the official training company for athletes preparing for their combines, trials, and tours. Helping ensure that the athletes arrive fit and well prepared,” Ibarra said. “We also have some upcoming projects and announcements that should help bridge the gap even more for athletes wanting to play overseas in Europe and as well as back home in the states, so make sure to keep an eye out on our website as well as our social media pages. It’s an exciting time for us at LAD and I am beyond thrilled. Thankfully I have a lot of downtime between games and practices as well as in the offseason to see this company grow.”
A new level; a new club; a new business. There is nothing short of excitement running through his mind.
“This is a fun and thrilling time in my life and I’m thankful for everything and everyone that has helped me get to this point. I look forward to what is to come,” Ibarra exclaimed.
