Hickory Hill finalist for Bluegrass Band of the Year

Cass County is being represented in the East Texas Music scene.
Avinger band Hickory Hill has been named a finalist for the East Texas Music Awards Bluegrass Band of the Year. A popular act across East Texas, the band is well-known at the Music City Texas theater in Linden.
Fans will be able to hear the band’s bluegrass sounds on Aug. 13 when they return to the MCT for a concert.
Other finalists nominated for Bluegrass Band of the Year are the East Mountain Bluegrass Band, The Purple Hulls, The Scrips and the Tin Top Road Bluegrass Band.
Heather Cloninger is a finalist for Female Vocalist of the Year.
She is competing against Jaden Fransworth, Kadie Lynn, Kelsi Kee and Sarah Hobbs for the title.
A link for casting ballots can be found at etxmusic.com. Voting is free. The deadline to cast a ballot is July 28.
The Fifth Annual East Texas Music Awards will be held at the K.E. Bushman’s Celebration Center in Tyler on Sept. 16.
