Commissioners OK computer contract

LINDEN—Cass County commissioners, on March 8, approved a three-year contract with Kaybro Technologies to provide a computer network system and e-mail management for county offices.
The county will pay $1,426.31 per month over the duration of the contract. Precinct 2 Commissioner Jon Borseth said that the contract not only includes e-mail service and monitoring but all of the networking hardware needed for the system. “They are also going to provide a firewall, which will increase the increase our security. We want to do everything we can to prevent the county from being hacked,” Borseth said.
The county is already using Kaybro for its other computer needs.
In order court action, commissioners designated the following equipment as surplus: from Precinct 1, a 2011 Kubota Tractor and 24’ Dynaweld Trailer; from Precinct 3, a 2002 Big Tex Dump Trailer, a New Holland Grade/ Maintainer and a New Holland Backhoe/ Loader.
Commissioners also approved a proclamation designating March as National Nutrition Month.
