QCISD adds new security measurename, photo and destination

Students in Queen City ISD are being protected by a raptor.
No, not the dinosaur from “Jurassic Park,” but the Raptor Visitor Management Program. On Oct. 6 the school district instituted a new campus policy requiring all visitors to show either a driver’s license or state-issued photo ID before being allowed beyond the front office.
Angie Griffin, J.K. Hileman Elementary principal, said the district takes student security very seriously and that the new system is designed to give another level of protection.
When a visitor enters the school they will hand their ID to a receptionist who will scan it, then return it with a printed identification badge. The badge has the person’s

Griffin said the system does not provide a full background check, but rather it runs the person’s name against a registered sex offender database
