SFI program set for Sept. 26 in Kellyville

The East Texas Timberland Owners’ Association (ETTOA), the Texas Forest Service (TFS) and the Texas Forestry Association (TFA) invite all timber landowners to attend a Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) program on Friday, Sept. 26 at the Kellyville Community Center, 130 Kelly Park Road, Jefferson.  Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m., with presentations starting at 9 a.m. The program should conclude around 2:30 p.m.
During the workshop, James Edelen will speak on the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) Program; Carl Herberg will discuss land values in East Texas; Ron Hufford from the Texas Forestry Association will provide a legislative update that affects forest landowners; TFS Theft Investigator Jim Caldwell, will talk about timber theft; and Todd Thomas from the Texas Forest Service will speak on forestry best management practices.   Read more in our e-edition: http://www.etypeservices.com/SWF/LocalUser/Atlanta1//Magazine64042/Full/index.aspx?id=64042
