A mistrial has been called in the case of a man charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child.
On Aug. 22, final arguments were heard in the case of the State of Texas vs. Robert Waylon Hawkins. Cass County Assistant District Attorney Tina Richardson said that within hours of final arguments, the jury reported back they were unable to render a “guilty or not-guilty” verdict. Richardson said that she has not spoken with the jurors to determine what caused their indecision.
