Linden has decrease in monthly sales tax revenue

Linden’s sales tax revenue for August was down 9 percent but payments for the year are still up 8 percent according to a report from the Texas Comptroller and the Linden Economic Development Corporation.
Net payment in August for sales taxes revenue was $33,549.57 compared to payments in 2013 of $37,122.85, a decrease of 9.62 percent for the month.
Total payments to date in 2014 are $236,203.08 compared to payments in 2013 of $217,101.17. The only other city to report a decrease in revenue for August was Douglasville. It was down 17.03 percent for the month and down 11.24 for the year.
The rest of the cities within the county saw an increase in revenue. They were Atlanta, Avinger, Bloomburg, Domino, Hughes Springs and Queen City.
Overall Cass County saw an increase of 3.09 percent in revenue in comparison to this time last year, with a total increase in revenue for the year of .27 percent.
