Best remains active at 90

Family and friends gathered in recently to help Julia Best of Bivins to celebrate another decade. Best born on May 30, 1924, recently turned 90.
Best hasn’t spent those years sitting at home twitling her thumbs instead she has stayed active and involved in her community.
Best was a charter member of Linden Hospital Auxiliary. She volunteered in the gift shop, helped deliver ice and treats to patients and always assisted at the bake sales and bazaars the auxiliary held each year before Thanksgiving. She also worked at fundraising to establish scholarships for nursing students. In total, she worked for more than 30 years at the Auxiliary and volunteered more than 3,000 hours.
