Linden-Kildare Consolidated Independent School District trustees during their board meeting on June 9 approved recommended changes to the DEC Local policy pertaining to staff compensation and benefits leave and absences.
Superintendent Dr. James Cowley said according to TASB (Texas Association of School Boards) that L-KCISD had one of the most liberal leave policies in the state and recommended the following changes approved by the board.
Cowley said a staff member still has available a possible 37 days of paid leave, this does not count the maximum 30 days of local leave or state sick and personal days, a employee may have available.
The trustees made the following adjustments:
If an employee is absent more than three consecutive workdays because of personal illness or illness in the immediate family the employee must submit medical certification of the need for leave. Prior to the change an employee was allowed five days.
