Students having a ball at BLAST

BLAST at Atlanta Elementary is providing educational fun for students this summer.
It is being held in conjunction with summer school, giving students who need extra help with school the opportunity to expand their education while learning the needed curriculum to move forward in school.
Students at Atlanta Elementary participate in three sessions each day – Fit Kids, Mind Works and Technology. These sessions are in addition to school curriculum they are studying.
Students participating in summer school also participate in the activities, but are pulled out at different times throughout the day to receive extra help with their studies, allowing the children to be taught in smaller groups.
AES BLAST Coordinator Ruth Ellen Nugent said they currently have 75 students participating.
