AHS student among those hospitalized following accident

Six passengers were taken to area hospitals following an accident near Clear Srpings Park at Lake Wright Patman.

Six individuals were transported to the hospital following an accident that occurred around 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
The accident occurred at Trexler Road and Clear Springs Road, near the Clear Springs Park at Lake Wright Patman.
The vehicle, an SUV, overturned in the accident and it was reported that four passengers were ejected, ages ranging from 18 months to 17 years.
DPS information officer Trooper Sylvia Jennings said three of the vehicle’s occupants were taken to Wadley Regional Medical Center, two were transported to CHRISTUS St. Michael Hospital in Texarkana, and one passenger was air-lifted to LSU Medical Center in Shreveport, La.
One of the vehicle occupants was Michael Shane Jones, of Douglassville, just graduated eighth grade at Atlanta Middle School.
No further information was available as of press time on Friday.
